090716 Doing more with barcodes Print
Hosted by Administrator

Barcodes are ubiquitous and heavily employed for tracking packages and samples in high throughput environments for minimizing data entry errors while improving accountability.

With availability of free fonts for barcodes and the cost of barcode scanner (under $60) it is relatively easy to integrate barcodes into any lab environment. This session will demonstrate printing, scanning and best practices for employing barcodes for samples management (slides, plates, inventory etc.).

We also will cover integration of popular applications like Word and Excel with barcodes and discuss labeling techniques and options that are suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions and affixing labels in small footprint locations.
