BioDesk can be used on various PCs and Macs. In order to use BioDesk, you must first download and install the BioDesk viewer/client (scroll to bottom of page for download links).
BioDesk Requirements To run a BioDesk session you will need a reasonably good network connection and a BioDesk viewer. A large display is also desirable but not necessary. Network Most of our testing is done on a fairly fast local area network. If you have difficulties with BioDesk in that environment, you may find it difficult to get any joy accessing us remotely. We've used BioDesk from home using an ISP account over a 56K modem connection and the viewer gave acceptable results. However, you need to be patient - there is a slight lag in response; frantically clicking away if nothing happens will only make things worse. BioDesk Viewers To view the BioDesk session you will need the standalone BioDesk viewer. For the best experience, we recommend using a machine with a desktop resolution of 1024X768 or higher. It is workable at lower resolutions, but you may need to use the scrollbars more often. Please see our note about this on the Potential Problems page. - BioDesk Viewer for PC - Download
