GCG ONE-ON-ONE Training

 

Our training staff is available to help you with the GCG Package if schedule workshops are not offered. The topic we will focus on is the use of the GCG graphical interface, SeqLab. Before we can offer this service, we require that you become familiar with BioDesk by going through the BioDesk Tutorial. In this tutorial, you will learn how to set up your BioDesk account, start and work a BioDesk Session, launch programs and understand basic file management.

Procedure:

  1. Request a server account to be created for you.
  2. When you are notified (via email) of the account creation, follow the BioDesk Tutorial.
  3. Upon completion of the tutorial, contact us to request One-on-One GCG Package Training. A BCF staff member will respond to your request to set up a training session.
  4. Review (and print) GCG SeqLab A and B Tutorials. SeqLab is the first session that we will learn to use. If you need specific tools, make sure that you look over the tools listed on the GCG Manual.
  5. Just before the first session, log on to BioDesk to start a session then at the training session, please be prepared to give us your BioDesk Session number.
